Suggest Treatment For Bronchitis While On Z-Pak

Question: was diagnosed with bronchitis and was put on zpak for 5 days pheglm and wheezing is a little better but still have cough and now have a feeling of having a lump in my throat

I can understand your concern.

You are partially improved in bronchitis. This is because you have not taken complete treatment.

Bronchitis is mostly due to infection. So Z pack is helping you in treating infection.

But inflammatory changes in airways and bronchospasm need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).

Inhaled treatment along with antibiotic is the main treatment for bronchitis for complete recovery.

You are not taking inhaled treatment, so you are not fully recovering.

So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).

PFT will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You should start inhaled treatment according to severity.

Feeling of lump in throat will recover by warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.

So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
