Question: I have 2 things in the same area, right hip area. a pinched nerve, and bites of some kind. I am a professional, I have a new bed, mattress, mattress pad, sheets, all are washed in hot water. my hip area, is getting numb, I think from the pinched nerve, but there are a few bug bites in the same area on that right hip. they itch, but most of the time I don't itch them, if I can remember. One week has been the pinched nerve, I didn't notice the bites right away, but I can't imagine how both can be discovered at the same time!!! I live in a new XXXXXXX housing apartment, 6 yrs old, everything is kept clean.

Brief Answer:
Please give additional information and post clear photographs if possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns;
Please give few more details for me to assist you better:
What is the size of the inflamed area of bite?
Were they like vesicles filled with fluid?
Is it possible to send the photos (I can understand it is difficult)? They do help sometimes for on-the-spot diagnosis.
Any investigations done till now or seen by a Doctor?
For what reason do you take extra strength excedrin - where is the pain?
Any other information please.

Dr Chandrankant, here is my pic :
The whole area is about 1 ft square, in some places there are 2 bites together, each bite is about 1/2 inch. The meds are for the pinched nerve in my back.

Brief Answer:
As detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the photos, albeit not very clear.
This is showing to be not of herpes as I thought.
Looks to be bites marks and/or itching/scratch marks which might have occurred inadvertently.
It is difficult to say the exact cause as you are taking all the care as you have mentioned. Many a times the exact cause can not be found.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Take care as you have been already taking.
Apply Liquid Povidone Iodine locally as this would help to avoid secondary infection from the skin.
Take antihistamine if there is itching.
Also watch for the sofas or the places where you sit can have the mites because the lesions are on hip area.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
