Suggest Treatment For Bump On Chest After Injury
Question: Last week my husband put his heavy tile saw on top of our trash can. Since our trash can is on wheels, I tried moving it. I shouldn't have done that because the tile saw slid and hit the center of my chest. I called for help but it took about 30 seconds for anybody to get to me, which doesn't seem long, but seemed forever to me because it was extremely heavy and it really hurt my chest. I couldn't let go or the tile saw would have fallen and broken and its expensive. Now there is a lump in the middle of my chest. It hurts a little and I can feel a slight pressure there. I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction 5 years ago so I have implants. The tile saw did not hit my implants, but instead slightly above them directly in the middle of my chest. Do I need to be concerned?

Read and understood your accident.
I would like to know a few things like:
Did the saw hit you while you were in standing position and you hold it like that ?
Is there any redness or a bump like hematoma?
Is there any pain while taking deep breath?
Are you moving around with any pain or problems?
Is there any pain at the implant ?
If the answer to all the above questions is negative, I do not think that there is anything much to bother about.
The only difference is when a Doctor sees you, does a clinical evaluation, actually examines you by palpation and auscultation to see any internal injury, it is always netter to have one examination and investigations like CT scan chest and so on if your Doctor feels so on examination.

The only question you have that is true is that I was in a standing position while holding the trash can with the tile saw on my chest. There is no visible bruise there...just a lump. We don't have insurance or I would go to the doctor to check it out just to be safe. Can you please tell me what MIGHT be wrong? If the possibility is too bad, then I will see a doctor. It is not extremely painful or anything. It does still hurt a little. The only thing that concerned me is that there is a bump there now a week later.
