Suggest Treatment For Bumps On Glands

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Feb 2015
Question: Hello,

I have discovered a few clusters of I guess you can say bumps on the glands and under the glands of my penis. No pain, even when I rub them. There is no itch or burning sensation, and they don't appear to be speading. I barely see them when erect. I went to a doc & he gave me Podofilox because he thought I had genital warts. But after 3 treatments they are still there after the skin grows back. I'm becoming worried. I did not transmit it to my partner. So I'm not sure if it's an STI or not. Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Penile clogged sebaceou secretions. Fordyce Spots

Detailed Answer:

Thank you for asking at ehealthforum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. bumps and cluster son the penis are usually benign. Had they been warts they would have responded to podofilox.

These bumps are mostly and also likely in your case, Fordyce spots. These result from clogged sebaceous glands secretions ( sebum ) which are plenty in penile skin.

Also you mentioned when you rub, the thing is rubbing and friction of any kind makes it more likely to get clogged and make bumps.

The good news is these are totally benign and self resolve sooner or later. All you gotta do is maintain a good hygiene, use loose undergarments, avoid friction or minimize it. avoid unnecessary lotions or anything etc as these worsen the bumps just like acne.

There is nothing to worry about. These bumps will resolve spontaneously eventually. ALl you gotta do is don't, pick, pop or manipulate them.

I hope it helps. stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and can not be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
