Suggest Treatment For Burn Marks Due To Anal Cancer Radiation
Question: Are there recommendations for my daughter in law to treat externally the burns from radiation for her anal cancer?
Brief Answer:
ConsideratiOns
Detailed Answer:
hello and thanks for the question.
We do have a couple of topical creams for this type of symptom. You would want to ask her doctor for topical Silvadene cream which is generally used for burn injuries. This in addition to possibly some topical cortisone might help. Also sometimes patients will soak in warm water to help soothe irritated skin.
I would recommend that she talks to the radiation specialist regarding any other prescription options that might be available.
Thanks again for sending the question.

Like when Wellbutrin was suggested it had some dopeine receptors added to the sweetening and thAt helped. I would have stayed with Cymbala but cannot tolerate the large weight gains effects on overall health

Followup
Detailed Answer:
Cymbalta is a good option. Might also consider gabapentin or lyrica.
Otherwise - narcotic medications may be considered but do carry significant side effect profile.
