Suggest Treatment For Burning And Itching Scrotum
Question: I have experience a scrotum burn and itch for almost year. I have seen a urologist and dermatologist and they write prescriptions that dors not work i need help
Brief Answer:
Kindly provide the requested photo/data...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Before running into final conclusions, I'd ask to have a photo of your current scrotum problems (if the skin changes are present).
Furthermore, did the doctors asked to do:
- urine analysis
- sperm culture
- biopsy or microscopical examination of the affected skin for fungal infections?
Can you also provide
- the prescription medications you are currently taking?
- if you are overweight?
- info regarding the diet (if more sugary foods are included)?
- if you have only one partner or multiple? If yes, are you aware of any possible genital problems might have?
Thank you!

I have had multiple partners in the past 24 month. I am not overweight
Brief Answer:
Advised to change therapy...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As I did not receive the photo and the reports of microscopic examination, I would suggest as following:
To my opinion, if the doctor prescribed solution containing nystatin, it might be because microscopic examination had reported fungal infection. If such combination resulted non effective, you can discuss with your doctor to start another therapy with Terbinafin or Clotrimazole solution depending on the microscopic test results. I usually prescribe to my patients with such problems as yours, a combination of Clotrimazole and corticosteroid drug.
If fungal infection is confirmed, can discuss with your doctor to start also oral anti-fungal medications (terbinafin, or fluconazole).
I also advise to keep a good hygiene of your genitalia and to avoid sex while on treatment. I want to remind you to always practice safe sex.
Hope it was of help!
