Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation And Pain In Lower Abdomen

Question: My mother is 76 and is experiencing constant pain in her lower abdomen. She says it is a burning pain. She is having 3-4 bowel movements a day, and it hurts when she does have a movement or when she is urinating. My mom had a colonoscopy several months ago, and nothing unusual was found. Also, she has had a hysterectomy. My mother is under severe stress as the daily caregiver for my father who has advanced Parkinson's and dementia. What type of doctor should she see?
Brief Answer:
meet a gastroentrologist
Detailed Answer:
In view of the symptoms, I feel she has IBS.
I would suggest high fiber diet,
Plenty of fluids
And Isapghulla husk.
Tab Tryptomer 10 at bed time may help.
She may need long term rifaximin, if the diagnosis is confirmed.
I hope the the information helps.
Bets of luck.
