Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation Around Hernia
Question: I am 41 and have had a reducible inguinal hernia since I was a teenager. Over the last 3-4 months or so there is occasionally a burning sensation in the vicinity of the hernia. During one of these events, the burning caused some numbness in the same area. I have never seen a doctor about the hernia specifically. Should I be concerned about strangulation if the hernia is still reducible?

Hi
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thank you for the query.
Well I guess do not worry.
Strangulation usually causes severe pain, vomiting, irreducibility. Unlikely you have it, but numbness can occur due to stretching of overlying skin.
But worthwhile seeing an surgeon and get it operated if he feels so as the risk of strangulation still remains even though you have it for years.
Hope this answers your query.
Best wishes.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
