Brief Answer:
Get nerve conduction study done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

Causes of toe burning sensation include injury ( stubbing your toe ), ill-fitting shoes, nerve damage by compression or toxins and peripheral neuropathy.

A valuable examination in this case is nerve conduction study and EMG.

In order to have a correct understanding of your condition, other problems that may cause peripheral neuropathy such diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency, prolonged alcohol use etc. should be considered.

As a start I suggest you to have a nerve conduction study done.

Considering wearing more comfortable shoes, ( if you notice any discomfort with those you are wearing ), could also improve burning sensation and also could be used as a diagnostic test too.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
