Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation In The Groin Area

Question: I have suffered with groin problems for months. Have seen a Der. Several times and have tried many products most recently zeasorb af. Stopped since it was causing burning. Have been using cold compreses. This afternoon work up with intense itching. Do not know what to do. Have several products here. At a total loss. Please help. I am slow at typing due to essential tremors .

Hello, thanks for writing to healthcare magic.I can understand your concern.

In my opinion you are probably suffering from fungal infection.This type of fungal infection is known as tinea cruris.

You need to take oral antifungal like terbinafine or itraconazole.These are available on prescription.

Stop applying creams since it can cause more irritation.


For control of itching you can take anti histamine tablets like atarax 25 at night and levocetrizine at day time.

Keep area dry as far as possible.

It will be better if you get your blood sugar levels tested.

Thank you for your advice.. on hand I have benadryl. It is night and no way to go to a pharmacy. I do have enlarged prostate and mild emphysema. And pace maker. Would the benadryĺ be safe for tonight. I will wash off the cream I am using which is lotrimin. Very very uncomfortable tonight and need advice for the short run.
I appreciate your help so much.
