Brief Answer:
Varicosities, erosive lichen planus, burning mouth

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
As far as the purple color is concerned, i have one possibility.
It can be because of the varicosities or dilated sublingual veins. Nothing to be panic. It will not harm you. Considering your age, it is quite common to occur in older age group.
The tingling burning sensation over the tip of the tongue is concerned, the possible cause can be depapillation of the tongue or erosive lichen planus or burning mouth syndrome.
It is very difficult to come to a final diagnosis, so if you can upload the images, i can clearly tell you the exact diagnosis.
If i am your treating doctor, Mean while i would have suggested you to take topical anesthetic like lignocaine gel(2%). Apply 3-4 times daily for 4-5 days.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
If you have any queries you can reply me back.
