Suggest Treatment For Burning Sensation While Passing Urine

Question: My wife is having burning sensation while passing urine. Earlier she use to take Citralika liquid and some homeopathic medicine to reduce the burning sensation. As we are in USA now (Came 15 days back from India), what medicine can be given to her to reduce the burning sensation. If required, I can send her file history when she was getting treatment in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Since you have gone back to USA i think homeopathic medicines will be difficult to get i suppose.

The best thing to do is to get a culture sensitivity of urine as that will tell the exact organism and also the antibiotic needed.

The drugs you have mentioned are only supportive treatment. They will not cure the disease.

Once the reports of the urine culture comes you can start antibiotics.

Thanks for your reply. May be I need Doctor prescription to go for culture sensitivity of urine to the Lab. I will get it done tomorrow, but i have a question.

This urine infection problem very repetitive in nature and I don't know how to handle this issue so that it doesn't repeat in future. She always make sure that she drink enough water, maintain clean bathroom and don't visit common restroom.

I will consult you after the report availability.

If the Urine infection is recurrent then we need to know the cause.

I will advise that you get a urodynamic study and a sonography KUB also to see what exactly is causing it.

We have to treat the primary cause (of infection )also apart from the infection itself.

Hi,

I have submitted the urine sample for Urine culture and report is pending in next 48 hours. Meanwhile Doctor at hospital has prescribed me Generic Antibiotic "NITROFURANTOIN MONO-MCR 100 MG" for next 10 days, I would be meeting doctor by coming Thursday with the Urine culture report. But as of now my Wife burning sensation while passing urine is really troubling her and not seems to reduce with the above stated medicine.

Can you suggest some medicine to provide her some relief from burning sensation until we get the report.

2) Take Myospaz forte tablets twice daily.

3) Continue nitrofurantoin till culture report..
