Question: I am 66 years old. I have a bone cyst in my heal bone. will my heal bone deteriorate and fracture? I have pain in my heal 1-10 about 3

I read your question and i understand your concern. With bone spurs, osteophytes or cysts, pain is common. Arthritis and degeneration is more likely. So we recommend conservative management with pain killers and calcium and vitamin D supplements to help degeneration. But if the pain still bothers surgical removal of the spurs should be considered. Rest assured, there are many age related changes that happens to musculoskeletal structure, so these bone spurs can not be blamed for every fracture you get.
