Suggest Treatment For Candidiasis Rash In Groin Area
Risk of infection to consider;discuss with urologist before the surgery...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
1. The fungal rash in groin area is correctly treated with ciclopirox which is an antifungal cream.
Usually, such treatment will need to be continued for at least 2 weeks, and sometimes up to 3 or 6 months depending on the progress.
2. Turp/green laser surgery you have been scheduled in 7 days is a minimally invasive procedure which is conducted through the aim of a cystocope being inserted into the urethra. A small laser fiber is then inserted and prostate tissue is being vaporised until obstruction is removed.
Although complications are a few, however, this procedure does carry the risk of infection as a cystoscope is being inserted into the urethra. If you have a fungal infection of groins, then, the risk of infection is increased although the rash is not located around the external urethral opening (top of your genitalia).
So, at this point, I'd suggest to discuss it further with the doctor (urologist) who is going to carry the surgery out before the intervention.
I hope your skin problem will be over before the surgery and you'll be cleaned until then.
All the best!
