Question: CMC Arthroplasty treatment and options. I had a cortisone shot about a year or two ago. It lasted for 5 months. Now it is necessary for this or some kind of pain reducer. No surgery options at least before next February

Brief Answer:
Can have another cortisone shot.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
An injection of cortisone reduces the pain for 5-6 months. Now since the surgery is at least 7-8 months away you can have another cortisone shot for pain relief or take mild pain killers and do a regular hot compress. Your orthopedician can suggest a proper pain killer after assessing the severity of pain that you have.
I hope this answers your query.
