Brief Answer:
anterior approach to cervical spine is safe

Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
Anterior approach to the cervical spine is safe procedure and you can go through that safely.
Decompression and fixation can be achieved well by anterior approach.
Another approach is posterior .decompression may be good by posterior but fixation of plate and screw may not last longer due to inadequate fusion.
Another way is conservative treatment may be tried if you are afraid of operation.
But you may need to take high dose analgesic and neurotropic along with steroid
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to ask. I will be happy to answer your question. Take care.
