default
Posted on Sat, 18 Oct 2014
Question: We are located in XXXXXXX since 1 year now. My son is 15 months old now. He has chest congestion since 2 weeks now. We have nebulized him twice since 2 days (Levolin + Saline water). But it has increased the congestion in his chest now. Our doctor has now prescribed nebulization 3 times a day (Beudecort + Levolin + saline). We are not sure whether we should follow this medication and that too 3 times a day. Please help.

Brief Answer:
start the treatment and wait for the response.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX Thanks for your question on HCM.
Levolin is having Levosalbutamol which is short acting beta 2 agonist and its action lasts for 4-6 hours , so ideally it should be given 4 times.
Budecort is having budesonide which is long acting steroid and its action last for 12 hours.
So I suggest you to take levolin 4 times and budecort two times in a day.
No need to worry about nebulizer treatment, as this is very safe with very low systemic toxicity.
Advent is antibiotic.
So I suggest to continue treatment with slight modification in nebulizer doses for 3-4 days and after this if your son is not well than go for chest x ray to rule out infection.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.

Thank you so much doctor. So as i understand we should go ahead with the treatment as below:
1) Levolin + budecort + saline solution nebulization 3 times a day
2) Romilast tablet 1 before sleep.
3) Advent syrup 3 times a day
Please confirm if theres no problem with this treatment.
