Suggest Treatment For Chest Pain And Breathlessness
This is regarding my wife.
about 10 days back, she complained of chest pain and was unable to breathe. took her to clinic. was given nebulisation and an injection. was prescribed transcaps as mentioned in report. However she still feels completely exhausted after inhaling the transcaps. what could be the reason and would you suggest anything in this regard
Get done chest x ray first.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your wife's situation.
Your wife is still not improving with inhaled treatment. This may be due to lung infection.
Lung infection is common cause for chest pain and breathing difficulty.
So get done chest x ray to rule out lung infection.
You did not mentioned about similar episode in past happened or not.
Because if this is her first episode then most probably it is due to infection in the lung.
As rhonchi can be heard in infection also.
Another possibility is poor control with transcaps due to poor technique or less inspiratory effort.
As in both of these cases, proper drug delivery will not be possible in the lungs. So control of symptoms will not be achieved.
Better to consult your doctor and discuss all these possibilities for poor control.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your wife.
Thanks.
Start SABA along with Esiflo.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
I don't know what is valves in lung. Because there are no valves in lung. So you might be misunderstood what doctor had said.
But, she is having infection for sure. So control of infection is needed.
Esiflo is having long acting bronchodilators.
In sudden, acute condition, short acting bronchodilators are more effective.
So ask your doctor about short acting beta 2agonist (SABA) and short acting anticholinergic drugs.
Their action start in 5-10 minutes and last for 2-3 hours.
Hope i have solved your query.
