Suggest Treatment For Chesty Cough And Flu
I recently started taking Bisolvon from having the flu and now having this chesty cough. I can't seem to get the phlegm out of my chest and everytime I have Bisolvon it makes me cough a lot more. So what I was wondering is that can I take any of these medications if I am on Bisolvon?:
- Codral Cough
- Demazin
- Pandol
- Codeine
Regards,
XXXX
Forgot to mention it is Bisolvon Chest Forte tablets that I am taking
can use either codral or demazin
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Bisolvan is a mucolytic (helps to break up the mucus). In many cases, because the mucus is breaking up, the coughing might increase as the mucus tries to come out.
The codral and demazin have different types but may contain a decongestant (either phenyephrine, or pseudoephedrine), paracetamol/panadol, cough suppressant (codeine) or a mucolytic (guaifenesin)
Some type of the codral or demzin may contain only some of the ingredients mentioned.
You can use one of these with the bisolvan forte.
If you do use the type of codral or demazin that has in paracetamol/panadol or codeine then you cannot use the pandol on the list or the codeine because you would be taking too much.
Summary: (1) you can use either the codral or the demazin with the bisolvan
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
can use cough suppressant at night
Detailed Answer:
HI
You can consider using the cough suppressant at night so that your nightly sleep is not disturbed.
In some cases, not all is brought out but is broken down never the less.
Some may be inadvertently swallowed
If anything else unclear, feel free to let me know
can use as long as needed
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Likely viral, most of these infections are viral but if you have a persistent fever (lasting more than 4 to 5 days), then it is possible that it is bacterial and you need antibiotics.
Either the cordal or demazin mentioned can be used along with the bisolvan. Make sure to use enough fluids, fluids help to decrease the viscosity (thickness) of secretions and would also help to get rid of the mucus
In terms of how long to use, you can use for as long as your symptoms are present
Please feel free ask anything else if needed
can be used together
Detailed Answer:
HI
Sorry about the late reply
Yes , one of these can be used with the bisolvan. The codral attached contains a different mucolytic plus a decongestant and the demazin contains an antihistamine and decongestant.
Bisolvon forte has a different mucolytic called bromhexine.
Hope this helps
