Brief Answer:
Suggestion for chickenpox

Detailed Answer:
Hi...Greetings from XXXXXXX

1. You have to isolate him first form rest of the people in the family if they have not yet had chickenpox in the past.
2. No need for any dietary restrictions. - keep giving him breast milk.
3. As it is just 48 hours form appearance of rash I suggest you get a consultation from your pediatrician regarding usage of Acyclovir (drug used for chickenpox).
4. He will not require chickenpox vaccination in the future at 15 months of age as is usually suggested.
5. The handlers of the baby have to wash hands every time before and after touching the baby.
6. If there is sever itching you can use Hydroxyzine or Cetrizine based on your pediatrician's prescription as both are prescription drugs.
7. If the lesions / Papules of chickenpox are becoming pus filled or if there is recurrence of high fever you need to take him to his pediatrician immediately as it is a pointer that the lesions are getting secondary bacterial infection.

I am happy to help any time. Please get back if you have any further queries regarding this.
