Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks or writing to us.
In chicken pox we initially advise
Tablet acyclovir or valciclovir( antiviral) within three days of onset of disease
Any oral and topical antibiotic to prevent any secondary bacterial infection
Oral antihistamine to reduce the itch,

Your doctor had already prescribed you an antibiotic and antihistaminic. Ideally an antiviral should have been added too.

In chicken pox usually the fluid filled blisters may keep on developing for three to four days and the lesions may require five to seven days to crust. Once the lesions are crusted and scabbed, the disease becomes non infectious. As fifteen days have elapsed, some of your lesions might have healed while some might still be crusted. Chicken pox lesions usually heal with marks and scars.

You have mentioned the lesions have not cured properly. I would appreciate if you could elaborate in what way lesions are not cured ie if you have crusted lesions or marks. Also please upload few pics of affected area so that I can see the lesions. This would help me in suggesting appropriate management.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Take care

Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
You need to take a diet rich in proteins like eggs, lean meat, sprouts lentils, soy products, dairy products. Also increase green vegetables, nuts and fruit intake.

As long as lesions are crusted, you just need to use an antibiotic cream like mupirocin or soframycin cream twice in a day. Avoid sun exposure as much as possible. Usually with time scars fade. However what specific management is required for scars can only be advised once I have seen your face. So please upload a pic.

Hi
firstly I apologise profusely for responding late.
In chicken pox, bathing shouldnt be avoided. Infact we advise our patients to bathe daily using any antibacterial soap as this prevents bacterial infection of lesions. I would prefer that you bathe using soap like soapex or dettol and plain water.
chicken pox is quite contagious, so chances are your son could be having it. However insect bite too can cause similar lesions and should be ruled out. So please meet a dermatologist to get his diagnosis confirmed. Even if its chicken pox; in children we manage it quite conservatively. We do not give any antiviral. Only an oral and topical antibiotic like amoxyclav syrup and mupirocin cream along with paracetamol syrup is enough. As these are prescription drugs, please meet a doctor to get these medicines
hope this answered your query.
I apologise again for the delay from my side.
wish you speedy recovery.

Brief Answer:
chicken pox doesn't increase with bathing

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
Your doctor has confirmed that you child has chicken pox too. So please start the medicines as advised by your dermatologist. Levocetrizine has been added to control itching. Fevago is paracetamol for fever and zovirax is an antiviral. These medicines should be continued for a week.

Bathing doesn't increase chicken pox lesions. Infact one should take bath while having it to maintain cleanliness and to prevent further bacterial infection. So I would advise that you should start bathing. Moreover your lesions are already healed.
Hope this helped.
Take care

Brief Answer:
use a good sunscreen lotion

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Hopefully my suggestions helped you.
Once your crusts are gone, make it a point to use a good sunscreen lotion in morning. Also use treinoin based cream like revize cream or supatret 0.1% over scars, once in night. This should lighten your scars in a month or so. If response is not good, consult a dermatologist nearby for chemical peels or prescription of hydroquinone/azelaic aicd/glycolic acid etc.

Take care

Brief Answer:
these might not give good response

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
I do not think, the prescription was given by a dermatologist as we usually do not prescribe eraser or any other over the counter brand. You may use your prescribed creams both twice daily. However personally I believe tretinoin, hydroquinone, glycolic acid gives better results.
Hope this helped
