Question: what to do for chills and shaking after having a tooth pulled with Novocain used to numb it.

Detailed Answer: Hi, This is Dr. Priyanka tiwari answering your query, I have gone through your query and I am not very concerned about it. Some patients feel chills and shivering after extraction (removal). It can occur due to side effects of anaethesia. It may be from other reasons too. I usually start my patients on vitamin supplements especially B6, B12 and folic acid supplements and urge them to rest well. Don't be concerned. If the shivering lasts for more than 24 hours, you can report back to the doctor who will evaluate for low hemoglobin, malnutrition, fever and other causes. Hope I answered your query.
