Question: 11 PM 11/17 got severe chils,when i woke up following morning whole body acked, extream fatigue spent 2 days in bed couldn't even read newspapers or watch TV, lost appetite drank only water . morning of day 3 felt 50% better . does this seem to be the flu.
what scared me is my heart rate in the morning was 90 two days in a row as my heart rate never goes above 65 in the morning had concerns.I just checked it now early afternoon on third day it was 78. Does illiness raise heart rate my blood pressure has been lower than normal and shoul i be concerned.

If you are getting better and no longer having chills, and can eat again, this may be a passing virus. If you are not making daily improvement, then do go in to see your doctor or an urgent care clinic.

Yes, heart rate goes up in response to any kind of stress. It can definitely go up if there is fever, pain, or dehydration. And blood pressure will drop if you are more sedentary, such as lying in bed. It shouldn't go too low though - that could be a sign of infection in your blood.

So these changes in heart rate and blood pressure are expected and sound ok.

Make sure to keep up with your fluids so that you are not dehydrated from your illness.
