Brief Answer:
It is a benign tumor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

Cholesteatoma is a benign growth in the middle ear. It is not likely to spread so fast as to cause meningitis and affect the brain. The surgery needs an expert doctor(ENT-surgeon). You must fix an appointment for surgery as early as possible. Waiting for a month or two will not cause any problem.

Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are due to the mass.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The symptoms that you have are due to the pressure caused by the mass. All these symptoms will gradually decrease after the surgery. Right now you can only have symptomatic relief from vertigo with the help of medicines like cinnarizine.
Hope my answer is helpful.
