Suggest Treatment For Chronic Constipation

Question: Hi. My problem is that my stomach is irregular. Sometimes I can go up to a week or more without going to the toilet. And if I do go, it is difficult to excrete and ends up being little balls. I feel like this is getting my body down as I am tired and have this slight constant head-ache.Is there something that you can recommend me to take to keep me regular. Thanks.Sir,
I have problems with this since 8-10 years old but now I ma 29, I am facing much problem regarding this case, please help me how can I get well soon.

I have read your query & understood your concern.
To have a habit of moving bowels once in 8-10 days /difficult excretion in form of little hard balls/being tired & have constant dull head ache is definitely suggestive of chronic constipation.
This can basically be due to -
- Faulty lifestyle- eating very little or very much so as to cause stress to bowels./ Irregular eating habit , with lot of fast food, refined food items, lack of fibers & less of water
- sedentary life style , over weight, excessive sleep/ lack of exercises / no regular toilet habits./ resisting natures call.
- Bowel infections( bacterial, viral, amoebic) / infestations ( worms / Food allergies ( Gluten, lactose intolerance) Other gastrointestinalproblems.
* Self management -
- having a balanced diet with sufficient of fibers ( fruits, salads, vegetables)/ lot of fresh water ( 10- 12 glasses of water daily .
- Regular physical exercises daily ( 45 minutes ) in form of walking, running, yoga exercises/ exercises for abdominal muscles / mind concentration & body relaxation techniques .
- Forming regular bowel habit - To start with use of glycering suppository/ stool softener like Cremaffin/ Lactulose - at bed time daily ... to be weaned off gradually as the natural cycle sets in.
* Health check up - To consult a Gastroenterologist for through physical check up & investigations to find/ exclude aforesaid bowel conditions which can hamper daily bowel clearance... to be followed by cause specific medication as per need.
Please note... a long standing problem is not likely to be cured like a magic, it's going to test your patience . Please cheer up it's a bit tuff but not impossible task.
So be positive, determined & stick to the changed life style & medications advised. I am sure you would get rid of the harassing problem within few months with strong will power & efforts.
