Suggest Treatment For Chronic Itching On The Hands And Legs

She is suffering from nerve problems and her back bone has bended and unable to walk and walks with difficulty. Now she is saying worms are sprawling through her hands and legs and by applying sikakai powder she is able to remove those worms. She says lot of worms has gone.In fact no worm has come out.But from the beginning she has the habit of scratching both the legs and hands with soap and sikakai while taking daily bath.We asked her not to apply soap or sikakai so that the wounds developed because of scratching could heal when applied medicines. But she is not listening and does this daily while taking bath.I feel very pity for her condition and asking for advice.
Please provide little bit more information and a photograph

Hello,
Welcome to Health Care Magic, I have gone through your question very diligently and I really appreciate your concern.
At the outset I would like further information for better assessment of the condition like -
If possible, please upload/attach a photograph of some of the affected areas. You can simply attach/upload it at the reports section.
Is she taking any medicine for any other disease like diabetes or heart disease ?
Does itching occur in webspace areas of finger and toes (area in between the fingers and toes) ?
Is any other member in the family having the same problem ?
I would advice you to give her anti-allergic drugs like Fexofenadine or Levocetirizine group of drugs twice daily (you may need to obtain prescription from your local physician).
Use antiseptic powder or ointment to be applied on scratched area to avoid infection.
Calamine powder can be used in between especially when itching increases.
As far as worms is concerned if you didn't find any visible worm than it might not be there, to be on safer side I would also advice her for deworming with Albendazole (prescription drug) group of drugs.
If all these drugs doesn't work, then in my opinion you should go for certain investigations like CBC, ESR, AEC (absolute eosinophil count), Liver function test and blood sugar test and/or a skin biopsy if need be.
Please write back to me with these details I have asked for, So that I'll be able to opine more specifically on this.
Awaiting....
Wishing her a good health
Kind Regards

I have sent you the photos of affected areas in legs and hands for your verification. She is not taking any medications for either diabetes or BP.Her sugar on fasting is 75 and BP is normal. The itching and resultant skin turned black is not between fingers and toes.Doctor has given some tablets for itching and in spite of taking it she scratches the hands and legs.Let me specify anti allergic drug to be taken. The worms which she says is not because of worms which you insist for deforming. Any how I will give the tablets for deforming. No one in the family have these problems.I will advise her to apply calamine powder as advised by you.She has a flair for applying any powder or ointment and will say she got relief from it but this relief is temporary.I will do the tests as prescribed by you.In the meantime you go through the photos of affected areas and let me know what it is.I am asking you is it because of nerve degeneration and because of tingling in the hands and feet she feels worms are moving.
Please advice me
Fexofenadine or levocetirizine is recommended as anti allergic
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome again and thanks a lot for uploading the photos.
I have gone through all the photographs, you have uploaded. Image 174136 and 174301 is suggestive of blackening and redness in between due to scratching.
Please encourage her to take anti allergic drug for itching that will reduce urge for scratching. You can give her Fexofenadine or Levocetirizine twice daily both are equally effective.
Do get all the investigations done as suggested in my previous reply.
I would advise you to apply Terbenafine ointment to be applied locally, calamine powder in between (you may need to obtain prescription for this from your local physician).
Tingling sensation might be related to nerve degeneration or vitamin B12 deficiency, which she is experiencing as worms are moving.
Deworming is also advisable.
Calcium and vitamin B 12 supplement for never degeneration disorder is recommended.
Hope this answers your question please feel free to ask for follow up question I will gladly answer you.
Best wishes
