Question: dear sir,

A 65 year old male pt diagnosed as Chronic Liver Disease Recently Detected with Type II Diabetes Mellitus.

pt was having h/o alcohol addiction since 40 year but since last 5 years he is not consuming alcohol.
kindly comment whether pas h/o alcohol addiction leas to current ailment of Chronic Liver Disease in view of stoppage of alcohol since last 5 years?

Though he has stopped alcohol 5 years ago, he had been drinking alcohol for nearly 20 years and alcohol intake for this long a period can cause liver damage.
Though he stopped drinking 5 years ago, the damage would have been already done due to prolonged period of drinking.
