Posted on Thu, 25 Sep 2014
Question: Yes, I woke up yesterday with extreme pain mid to lower back, took meds and tried to work it out. Last night I slept on the Lazy boy chair since I couldn't sleep flat on bed. This morning the pain centered on my lower left side even with my waist or belly button. Should I be concerned and see an MD or ER? Do you need my transaction number for proof of payment? 41XXXXXX032B. Thank you for your time!

Brief Answer:
You should be examined clinically.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like Ureteric stone or musculoSkeletal pain.
Please consult your doctor and get an Ultrasound abdomen.
If it is normal, it could be musculo skeletal pain.
I prescribe Skeletal muscle relaxant tablet to my patients with similar complaints initially.
Nothing to worry.
If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.

Brief Answer:
It all depends on the size and site of the stone.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
The symptoms and duration depends on the site and size of the stone.
Small stones will get dissolved and are passed In the urine with medical treatment.
Large stones should be managed with surgery or Lithotripsy (blasting the stone into pieces).
Please get an Ultrasound abdomen first.
Wish you good health.
