Question: I have C Diff it is presently being treated with Vancomycin 125 mg but it does not seem to helping what do you recommend that i take or do?
Brief Answer:
hi and welcome to hcm
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
Resistancy of c.diff. to vankomycin is very rare. I suppose that you 've started with metronidsol first and that now you 're taking vanco. At this point I don't recommend to switch antibiotic,if you 'll need to do it then it would be good to go back to metroidasol for 10 days. Only in severe cases you should start rifampin. But try to patient first, take enough fluids, probiotics and easier food. Most such colitis are self limiting and serious consequences are rarity. If symptomatisch persist after 10 dass then coloniscopy should be Domes to rule out some other underlying cause. Wish you good health.
