Could be an allergic cough. Your child seems to be prone to it.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. A clinical evaluation is essential in such a case. However, there are two broad issues to consider.
* It is possible that the cough is actually due to reflux of the stomach contents back to the food pipe. You should burp the baby for at least 15-20 mins after each feed. All you need to do is to hold the baby head end elevated for this duration. Proper burping will ensure that the milk will not regurgitate back from the stomach to the food pipe, thus preventing the cough.
* It is possible that the cough is actually due to an allergic component which is often found to associated with viral infections. Some children are more prone to catching the cold and recurrent episodes are seen. Such infections are frequently associated with an allergic component and the elevation in Immunoglobulin (possibly IgE) confirms this propensity.
If cough or nasal discharge is present it is advisable to give some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for next few days.
You need to give steam inhalation to your child. It helps in reducing the congestion. Just sit with your child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapor will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief.
Use Nasoclear Saline Nasal Drops in case of nose block. Give Asthalin only if there is wheezing, noisy breathing or respiratory distress.
Hopefully, that would help. It would be hard to get full relief. However, avoiding cold temperatures should help.
