Question: good morning doctor. my wife is suffering from throat infection and she took Megaclox tablets along with cough syrups but still she is suffering from cold and severe cough followed by spitting of flum. can you please advise.

Hi,

Need to know duration of symptoms. How long is she having antibiotics?

In my opinion she can continue antibiotics for 5 days minimum and then wait for 1-2 weeks for throat to heal. Take some probiotics along with. Do let me know complete list of medicines she is taking.

If it does not heal after the above, then go for sputum culture and sensitivity and take antibiotics according to that report.

doctor she took the above tablets for two days and using Benadryl cough syrup and various home remedies. she has continuous cough and flum from it. please advise.

my wife having cough and she is spitting flum. she had taken 4 tablets of Megadox attached a d having cough syrup. she is trying hone remedies but not helping. can you please advice.

Continue antibiotics (Megaclox) for 5 days and wait for 5 to 10 days to see the results. In cough, antibiotics take some time to act and still more time for phlegm to clear up. Strepsil lozenges will also help.

Gargling with salt in warm water is also needed.
