Brief Answer:
Lymph node reaction

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but it seems that you are having a lymph node inflammatory reaction to your cold which occurs in the form of lymph node enlargement and tenderness.. This is usually a benign condition that resolves on its own without a treatment when your cold resolves .. if the swelling becomes red , warm or develops throbbing pain then this means an abcess has formed which will require medical attention .. I hope I answered your question..
