Suggest Treatment For Cold, Cough And Hoarseness In A Child
Question: My daughter was having little cold from past 4 days. we only had noisy (thick) coming out so we gave Timinic once per day 5 ml in night and it was helping. From yesterday she started having little cough which increased by night.
We gave her dabur honeytus which appears to help. from her voice cough and cold can be inferred.
We have below cough syrup at home, please let me know which we can give and what dosage for how long?
1. Ambrodil-S Syrup
2. Levolin Syrup
3. Tossex Syrup

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections which last for 5-7 days irrespective of treatment. My suggestions for you would be:
* Continue Honeytus till the cough resolves.
* Give Ambrodil-S 5 ml thrice daily for 3-5 days. If you give Ambrodil-S I would advise not to give Tossex as the two work in opposite direction.
* Give Levolin Syr. if there is wheezing or respiratory distress. Alternatively it can be given 5 ml thrice daily for 3 days and then as required.
