Brief Answer:
needs evaluation for poor appetite and infections

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I'am Dr Suresh K Yadav MD (paediatrics), I had gone through your question and understand your concerns,

Medicines are not solution to increase appetite , he needs evaluation for any deficiency like iron, vitamin D and multivitamins which may be reason for poor appetite and frequent infections .

In addition he needs to be evaluated any chronic illness and also for allergic tendencies causing recurrent cold and fever .

Is cold and fever associated with respiratory distress and or congestion or wheezing also. In that case prophylactic anti allergic medicines may be considered.

Recurrent infections are common in this age and babies usually better with age , but if infections are severe and very frequent evaluation for immune deficiencies may be considered but first common things like iron deficiency should be corrected.

Weight of your baby is slightly lower than average that is 11 kg at this age . Try to feed him variety of foods , introduce one new food at a time and try for 4-5 days , than consider other food .

Do complete you baby's vaccine including influenza yearly vaccine.

You can discuss this with your doctor .

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions

Take care.
