Brief Answer:
try to identity the allergen.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Asthma is triggered by allergen. And allergen can be anything. But the most common ones are dust, pollens, animal fur etc.
Basic treatment of asthma is to identify the allergen and if possible complete avoidance is needed for better control.
Another triggering factor is recurrent viral upper respiratory tract infection (URTI). So if not taken, vaccinate your grandson with influenza vaccine.
And only syrup will not help him. He may need antiallergic drug too along with antihistamines. So ask your pediatrician about this.
Also reply me which nebulizer drugs you are using? Because if you want to achieve longer control, you need long acting bronchodilators.
So my suggestion to you for better control of symptoms in your grand son are
1. Identify the allergen and if possible complete avoidance.
2. Ask about influenza vaccination to his doctor.
3. Ask about adding antiallergic and antihistamine combination.
4. Let me know which nebulizer drugs you are using,so that I can guide you long acting drug for better control.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your grandson.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
use long acting beta 2 agonist (LABA).

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for your follow up question.
Its good that he had taken influenza vaccine.
About nebulizer drugs, I will advice to replace levolin with long acting beta 2 agonist (LABA). Levolin is having levosalbutamol and its action lasts for oy 2-3 hours. So frequent dosing is necessary. To avoid this ,use LABA. It is having higher effectiveness and longer duration of action (10-12 hours). So better control of symptoms can be achieved.
Since it is prescribed medicine you need to consult pediatrician for this.
Also ask him about starting combination of anti allergic and anti histamine. This will also give him more benefits.
So discuss about these two drugs with pediatrician.
Avoid dust ,pollens, pollution etc for better control.
Hope I have solved your query.
