Suggest Treatment For Cold, Headaches And Muscular Pain In The Neck And Shoulder
It seems to be muscular pain- please follow the advices
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I care fully read your question and understand your concern.
If you are having headaches that spead in the neck and than on the shoulders than it is very likely it is due to muscular causes. Cough causes all the muscles on the neck and shoulder, chest and abdomen to strain and sometimes we might have muscular fiber damaged and have pain related to it.
If the pain is worse on movement and you can find it by touch than it is more likely it is muscular pain.
1. Motrine regularly every 6 hours after food and warm local compresses should be a help. We also recomment soft massage, finding the most tender area and doing circular masage to help the muscle relax. Careful neck and shoulder exercises to keep the neck and shoulders moving might help the muscles relax also.
2. Combining motrine and paracetamol (tylenol) together every 6 hours might be more helpful.
3. If you are not improving a couple of days or you are any worse you will need to see your doctor. Especially if any sputum with dark color or blood, if the back pain is not effected by touch, if you develop fever or are very fatigued- we need to make sure that the cold you had is not complicated.
4. Meanwhile drink plenty of fluids, take guaifenesine syrup to help with the cough, have some honey tea to soothen the throat, lozanges for the throat, rest as possible and try to avoid unnecessarily contact with other people so to keep them away and not get the virus you are having.
5. Quiting smoking in case you smoke is a great decission and I would encourage you to do it.
I hope this is helpful to you and answers to your question.
I wish you quick healing.
Kind regards
