Suggest Treatment For Cold, Running Nose And Sore Throat
Question: Hello,
I've been hit with a pretty brutal cold (bad stuffy nose, sore throat, the whole nine). Last night though, I felt this pain come on rather rapidly (within an hour and is still present) in my esophagus (I believe) where it felt as if something was lodged in there (just at the base of my clavicles in the direct center of windpipe). That, along with a rather localized sore throat; the near-top of the back of my mouth down to the middle of my throat. I mention these together because when I turn my head to one complete side, it hurts in the middle where the lodging was (image attached points to where this pain is).
My ultimate question is, is this normal for a nasty cold (when it goes through its stages) or is this an infection?

Brief Answer:
This is normal
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
With a bad cold, this is not uncommon. This is because this is often accompanied by inflammation of the throat and the neighboring glands which explains why. Get tylenol and that would be okay.
There is no reason to be worried any further. I wish you well and keep me posted on your progress.

Definitely muuuuuuch better. If i may ask doctor, on a completely unrelated note...
I sat on my drum throne (what drummers sit on) when i was recording music on yesterday morning/afternoon (they dont have any back or arm support). I feel pain what feels like right behind my tailbone (just below where the buttocks begins). Could sitting on something such as this cause that sort of discomfort or should i see a doctor for rectal examination? I attached an image of it just for immediate sight .

Ok. Thank you doctor. Now that i think about it, there have been a few times where ive eaten a heavy meal, and would feel it in the same area sometimes, occassionally followed by the need to use the restroom. Still ok?
Brief Answer:
It is still okay!

Hi,
Monitor only for now. You have not reported any grossly abnormal findings that should keep me concerned and ask for a doctors’s visit at this time. If anything changes, keep me updated and i will act on that.

Brief Answer:
Really very rare at your age!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Not just that your symptoms are not very suggestive, your age makes it a lot unlikely as well. Be relaxed and always keep in touch for further orientation and guidance.
Thanks.
