Suggest Treatment For Cold Sores On The Lip

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Feb 2017
Question: Hey there. I have a bump that keeps appearing on my lip. I have had cold sores in the past and also smoke a pipe every once in awhile. It doesn't hurt and can't really be "popped". It appears sometimes and then goes away for a few days. It almost feels like it's inflamed sometimes and then goes down after it's done being agitated. It would do it mainly after I smoked a pipe but I've noticed recently it appears sometimes even when I haven't smoked. for what it's worth it appears in the exact spot where I would get my cold sores too. I can include a link to a video of it so you can take a look. I've peeled it off a few times too. It's like it's an extra two layers of skin or something.

Brief Answer:
Could be a cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thank you for using HCM.

I saw the picture but I could not watch the video but according to how you describe the bump and what I saw in the picture ,I think it could be a cyst.
Usually ot appears when you traumatized the area ( between your lip and your front teeth ),biting your lip( suck the lip to the teeth)..

The reasons why thecold sores happen in the same place with the cyst is the physical stress (trauma ).
When the lip is damaged is easier for the virus (cold sores) to affect the area..
Don't touch it , try to avoid any physical trauma of your lips, will go away by itself.
Hope I have answered your question .
Let me know if you have any further clarifications, i will be happy to help.
Take Care !
