Suggest Treatment For Complex Kidney Cyst In Left Kidney

Question: I was just diagnosed with a complex kidney cyst in my left kidney. The doctor is waitng 3 months for a CT scan. Is this normal?

Yes this is very normal. Every complex cyst of a kidney needs to be verified with other than ulttasound test. It is necessary to rule out a cancer.

I'm having really bad back pain and a fever and night sweats. Is that normal?

Cyst usually does not cause any symptoms at all. However back pain and night sweats can indicate urinary tract infection what in some cases can be related to the cyst. You should have also frequent urinating or burning while urinating. Urine analysis should be done.

I was just at my urologist yesterday with no UTI, I have had chronic UTIs since my 20s. I also have urinary retention. My bladder isn't emptying like it should be. He has me on Vesicar and flomax for the last few weeks, but they don't seem to be working. What should I do?

Already had a cystoscope and other than a short urethra everything was normal other than a large bladder. CT scan is scheduled in two months but with the pain and night sweats and fever I'm not sure I should wait. My bladder is holding more than 392 ml. I can't feel when I need to urinate.
