No other pain associated with this. The pain seems to arrive around bedtime when I am less active. It keeps me awake and the discomfort is somewhat strong and the intensity seems to come and go.

Minimal, but definitely some close to foot. Lower left muscle in front.

Spinal problem
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the added information.
Based on this information, I feel that you are developing some kind of spinal problem.
The bones of the back, are in some form, starting to compress the nerves that arise from there.
I would, in any patient with such symptoms, after a good examination, suggest an MRI of the LS spines. Initially an x ray might suffice. But an MRI always gives more information. The MRI can confirm the diagnosis.
An NCV of the affected limb will also be a good idea.
Thereafter I would suggest a prescription of pregabalin and methylcobalamin. A visit to physiotherapist will be important too.
All this is assuming you have no other disease like diabetes.
Best of luck.
