Brief Answer:
Fever should settle down with continuing TB treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Your son has been diagnosed with TB and has been started on the correct TB treatment.

Sometimes the fever in TB may take a long time to settle down. As of now nothing much is required except that he should continue TB treatment without missing a single dose. I am sure the fever will come down soon. He may need a short course of oral steroids to control the fever. Discuss with his treating physician.

It`s only if after taking more than 6 to 8 weeks treatment his fever continues and his general condition does not show improvement or is actually deteriorating, his doctor will have to review his case. Possibility of other causes and drug resistance has to be considered.
