Suggest Treatment For Constant Headaches

Question: Hi,

I am suffering with some strange symptoms.

I am feeling almost constantly dizzy, not to the point of falling over or needing to sit down but just difficulty focusing and everything looks a little hazy. I am also getting regular headaches, I had a period earlier in the week where I had mild migraine type symptoms where i had a side of the head headache for hours and felt a little nauseas and light headed (never had migraines before). The following day i had a constant tension like headache which lasted about 12 hours. For the past 2 days I have been getting left side of the head headaches only and upon inspection i have noticed that I have a tender area above my eye socket and below my eyebrow which hurts to touch (i have had this for a while), and it seems as though this ache is coming from this painful spot.

I am having very mild synus type pains first thing in the morning but no mucus, cold like symptoms, tenderness of any other areas, etc. Only symptoms are my vision/focus and the head/eye ache.

The main point for me is the combination of the tender eye pain below the brow bone and the vision/focus problems.
Are symptoms separate?
Any idea what this could be?

Brief Answer:
Partly related. Steam inhalation should help.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. The eye pain is seemingly related although I doubt if the haziness of vision is related. Sinusitis is an infection of sinuses, the air pockets contained in our skull. It is most often caused due to viral although occasionally there is a superadded bacterial infection present. Antibiotics or any other medicines cannot reach the sinuses properly and sinuses have a poor blood supply. Antibiotics may relieve the superadded bacterial infections, but the unresolved underlying infection may flare up subsequently. Taking steam inhalation can provide relief as it helps in opening up the openings of the sinuses that have been blocked by thickened mucus. Water in form of vapour will reach deep inside and will help in dilute the thickened mucus.

Take rest and plenty of fluids to drink. You may take naproxen 500 mg tablet when required, in case you have pain.

I would insist you to get your eye power checked.

You need not worry. Hopefully it would be get well soon. You would need to seek additional medical help in case of respiratory distress or increased wheezing.

Feel free to write back.

Regards
