Question: I am an enduranc athlete. Last year in XXXXXXX my right leg was pulled by another competitor, and I've had hip pain ever since. I'm due to race again this year but am pulling out due to the pain I'm in after running. I don't want to take anti inflammitories and painkillers forever. I have really tight abductors, ITB's and calves and the pain is bilateral. Lateky my other joints have been achie as well.

Brief Answer:
It is likely to be muscular pull. Rule out vitamin deficiency.

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. You are likely to be having muscular pull. Its treatment is analgesic such as ibuprofen and rest. But because you have pain and tightness in muscles of many group so you may be having deficiency of vitamin and trace elements supplements. You are likely to get benefitted by vitamin and trace elements supplements. You can get your vitamin D3 and vitamin B12. If found low you can take supplements of vitamin D3 and Mecobalamine ( vitamin B12) . You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Brief Answer:
Exclude vitamin deficiency and thyroid disease.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back
As it is bilateral and last so longer so it is unlikely to be due muscle pull . You need to investigate it as already discussed by vitamin levels. You should also exclude thyroid disease by thyroid function test( T3, T4 and TSH).You are also get your rheumatoid function to rule out rheumatoid arthritis .
Everything else already discussed.
