Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I have gone through your medical history and will talk to you honestly as all my colleagues here at HCM are doing. Please bare in mind that all doctors respect the Hippocrates Oath and all their medical practice is based on that Oath.
Now, coming back to your problems. Being diagnosed with COPD does not mean that you have severe problems. It is true that it is causing chronic obstruction of the respiratory airways. The main goal is to prevent developing severe complications and ease the symptoms of air obstruction.
This is a condition that is gradually developed by the passing of time. Some people are more predisposed to develop it as compared to others.
Haemophylus influenza is a bacteria usually causing infection of the upper respiratory tract. Its incidence is decreased due to vaccination.
Patients with COPD get easily bacterial bronchitis, where H.influenzae is one of the causes. Antibiotics are the treatment of choice in this case together with steroids and other supportive treatment.
Being breathless might be related to obstruction of airways. Respiratory function tests would better determine the obstruction and give a hand in better management.
Once again, there are many medications that can help ease your pulmonary obstruction (broncho-dilators, steroids, etc.) together with antibiotics fighting the infection, including H.influenza infection.
Hope it answered to your queries! Let me know if you have further clarifications!
