Suggest Treatment For Corn And Calluses Under Foot
Please send this question to "Dr. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Kanodia"
My wife has corn/calluses in bottom of her foot. We initially applied corn tape for a day (it came out over night as during washroom usage foot was getting wet) and next day consulted you (22Feb15.zip pictures attached). you advised to use salicylic acid 17%. After first day of usage she reported increase in pain severity (refer thread https://www.healthcaremagic.com/AskDoctorInboxServlet?page=viewQuery&queryId=171333). you advised us not to use anything for 5-6 days and then revert back here. (latest pictures 01Mar15.zip attached for reference)
Now 5-6 days has passed, inflammation/pain has decreased but we need to treat her to get her complete relieve. Currently she is experiencing inconvenience while walking. Please advise next course of treatment.
Ask her to wear soft padded slippers or shoes to avoid pressure.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back to the forum and thanks for your follow up.
I have analyzed the pictures and can get that the swelling is reduced and only bit dry skin is visible over the affected area.
Presently you can start applying the salicylic acid lotion over the affected area. Do gentle soaking of the affected feet in warm water so that the area becomes bit soft. Ask her to wear soft padded slippers or shoes to avoid pressure over the affected area.
The inconvenience in walking would remain till the corn is present on the site.
You can take further guidance from a dermatologist. I hope this information will help you. I will be glad to guide you any further.
"Wish you good health"
