Suggest Treatment For Cough, Acid Reflux And Anxiety

default
Posted on Thu, 2 Apr 2015
Question: I feel like there is something in my throat or side of since yesterday after I took my vitamin an broke it in my mouth. I'm not sure if it got caught somewhere while swallowing. I also have had similar feeling after eating sometimes like it almost goes down the wrong way. I do have acid reflux an have been off those meds since it was not bothersome. Occasionally I will cough on air or like a water feeling comes up. So I'm not sure if this from having something caught in the wrong place or all with acid reflux. It feels like something is there or irritated. I also have anxiety so that doesn't help.

Brief Answer:
This is classical of acid reflux!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully. Feeling of something stuck in the throat is a typical symptom of acid reflux. Reporting a feeling of water coming up is also very suggestive. What happens is that as acid escapes the stomach, it carries tiny particles which get stuck to the back of the throat and are responsible for this feeling of something stuck there. I will suggest that you get back on your medications.

Beside drugs, avoid tobacco, alcohol, fatty foods such as chocolates, etc. Also, avoid leaning forward or going to bed soon after meals an also raise the head of your bed while sleeping to help reduce reflux.

I hope this addresses your query fully. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
