Suggest Treatment For Cough And Nasal Congestion In An Infant

Question: Hello sir,my baby is 5 months old ,he is suffering from mucus& cough.can I give him ambrolite-s and omnacort if yes what is the correct dosage.thanking u.with regards

Ambrolite S Syrup can be given to your child at the dose of 2.5 ml twice or thrice daily. Omnacortil needs to be given only if there is a noisy respiration or significant respiratory distress and not otherwise. Steam inhalation should be given along. Water in form of vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough. Just sit with the child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. Water vapor will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Do not give corex as it acts in the reverse direction. Ascoril Drops would serve the same purpose as Ambrolite and hence any one of them should suffice.

sir now cough has stopped but mucus & sound in chest persist doc has prescribed ATM 100,2ml 2times,ambrodil-s 3ml3times,avmont-l kid tab 1at night for 5 days.can it b given

Thanks for writing back. Just continue steam inhalation. Avmont-I s right to be given along with Ambrodil S. However, I doubt if ATM-100 (Azithromycin) is required. All others can be given.
