Suggest Treatment For Cough And Stuffy Nose

Question: Hello doctor, daughter has cough and stuffy nose. I want to give her sinarest syrup. She resists taking medicine. Can I mix the syrup in fruit juice or mix with curd or milk and give her. She is 35 months old.Weight 13 kgs.

Brief Answer: yes Detailed Answer: Hi, You can first try diluting the medicine with little water or adding some honey If it still does not work, you can dilute with milk or juice. It work well with daughter. I diluted with juice. She got stomach pain and vomitted the juice. Sorry small correction. It did not work well for my daughter. She got stomach pain and vomitted the juice.

Brief Answer: try alternative with better taste! Detailed Answer: Hi I know it is a struggle with some kids to give medicines!!! You can try tminic drops or syrup instead of sinarest. Otherwise ask your doctor who examined her for alternative syrup or we ether it is needed at all! There is no point in forcing the child. I warned you about diluting too much as it becomes a bigger volume. Also never mind vomiting once as it brings out the swallowed phlegm which otherwise will not come out in a child! God bless Dr Uma
