Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. It is important to first distinguish whether your throat allergy is due to inflammation and allergy in the upper respiratory tract (colds, sinusitis, post nasal drip, pharyngitis, laryngitis), environmental allergy or acid reflux.
2. For mild throat allergy, an anti-histamine (such as cetirizine, levoctirizine or fexofenadine), a cough suppressant (such as Ascoril-D, Reswas or Zedex) will help settle the symptoms. A medicated gargle (such as Betadine or Tantum) and home remedies such as turmeric and honey in warm milk will soothe the throat. Diet must be bland.
3. Get a throat examination from an ENT Specialist, including a VideoLaryngoscopy (VL'Scopy). The findings in this examination will reveal the source of your symptoms and can be treated accordingly for long term relief. For example, reflux and lymphoid tissue hypertrophy in the throat are common findings.
4. You may upload images or a video from the VL'Scopy for further treatment options.
5. Allergy tests are also possible for environmental and food allergies at all leading labs.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
