Suggest Treatment For Cough And Tickle With Watery Eyes
Cough is an outcome of infection in your sinus.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.
I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.
Have you tried OTC Cough suppressants like syrups ? There should be more than a couple of choices with your pharmacist. Check with that but be careful of the contents like phenylephrine etc which are not intended for elderly age group.
Another option is to review your acute sinusitis with the ENT doctor if the infection has died down or not - if not, then you may be asked for tests again. If 2 or 3 courses of antibiotics do not work to control this infection, then minor surgical options are available to clean the sinuses to get rid of the infection.
Your present symptoms seem to indicate a lingering infection yet again. You may also need on prescription antiallergic drugs to take care of watering eyes and tickle feeling.
Meanwhile, try to do warm salt water gargling 4 times a day to soothe the throat, if you are not hypertensive. Else check OTC list of gargling solutions.
Also, steam inhalation with some aromatic oils like eucalyptus or camphor does produce good results. Check again for the OTC list.
Let me know if I have missed out any other concern in your question.
Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.
Sincerely,
Dr Sujeet N Charugulla,
